Take a moment with me here ... step outside of your political box, take a deep-breath, and participate in my simple, 2-question thought experiment.

Question #1:

In Michigan (for example), if you would like to cut my hair and receive an income for doing so, you have to get a license.  To get the license, you have to:

  1. Go to cosmetology school.
  2. Complete 1500 hours of training and/or work 2 full years as an apprentice in a licensed establishment.
  3. Apply for a license with the State of Michigan.
  4. Take and pass Michigan's state board written and practical exams.

Since we require such high standards of people who wish simply to cut hair, shouldn't we also require the following of anyone who wishes to run for public office?

  1. At least 1500 hours of school, learning the details of Madison's Federalist Papers, Jefferson's Kentucky Resolutions, the American Revolution, the Constitutional Convention, and all other directly related topics.
  2. Take and pass state board written and practical exams.

Question 2:

The second question I wanted to pose in our thought experiment has to do with taxes and the "stimulus."  I've brought this subject up before, but not in the form of a question.

As I was surfing the Internet, giving myself a few more minutes of randomness before digging into the subject and researching it  (procrastinating), it must be kismet ... because I happened across the following video* posing the question for me!

And let's be honest here ... Michelle is way hotter than I am.  It's not even a contest.  So I'm sure the video will be more entertaining than my rambling.

I love it when a plan comes together :-) !
